Who am I?

Meditation to be in the present

Useful to recenter your self

ā€‹

Feel your buttocks in the seat meditation

Take a deep gentle breath …and relax…relax…gently let go…release the sensation of the material, physical…release…let go...

Now, allow yourself to look at the backs of your eyelids, gently return again and again and again to this state, moment by moment.

ā€‹

Now, gently feel your buttocks sitting on the chair.

ā€‹

(Note: if you are standing, freely feel the bottoms of your feet standing on the ground.)

ā€‹

Feel your buttocks on the seat; this is the only awareness at this time; there is no past, there is no future at this awareness; there is simply the present moment; this is where all the power exists; if we slip to the past we experience some form of depression; if we slip to the future we experience some form of anxiety; the present moment is where all the power and intelligence unfolds and blossoms— all else is diffracted…defused…separated into parts…we want to live wholly, complete and we do so when we are singularly focused…no past, no future…simply allowing ourselves to exist in this present moment.

ā€‹

Existence in present moment permits us to access realms of our consciousness undisturbed by the noise of the material…physical realm.

The beginning of this meditation was given to me at the age of six; it wasn’t planned as a meditation but, coordinated with my first formal experience of meditation at age 24.

ā€‹

My dad asked me go with him to the hardware store, Grandpa Pigeons, to pickup some items; he wanted my company. He asked me to stay awake; I assured him I would. Well, at some point he tapped me and said I had fallen asleep; I pleaded to him that I had not. He then said, “you must have been looking for leaks in your eyelids”. I had no clue what he meant until I was about 11 and accustomed to dry sense of humor.

ā€‹

During my first formal eyes closed meditation I noticed my eyelids gently fluttering; leaks in my eyelids; this lead to my meditation of “looking at the back of your eyelids”. This allows our minds to have a singular focus and causes a unified present moment experience.

So,

Take a deep gentle breath …and relax…relax…gently let go… release the sensation of the material, physical…release…let go…

ā€‹

Now, allow yourself to look at the backs of your eyelids, gently return again and again and again to this state.

ā€‹

Some call it oneness, others a something else; choose what resonates with you…
